Dear RN list, In the message following this one I will post two anti-war ideas sent to this list. Given my understanding of the war fervor in the US, neither idea has much hope of succeeding. However, I want to post them because, while they represent a minority in the US, the war fervor is actually overwhelmed by a growing global revulsion to the killing. So those of us, within and without the US, who oppose this war need each other, need to know our work is part of something that may look hopeless on the surface, but actually must succeed. So, please respond to the appeal below. all the best, Jan ********************************************************** >From: Marya & Philip <•••@••.•••> >Subject: [CUSJ-L:1545] A PLEA FOR SOLIDARITY! >Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2001 17:34:35 -0700 > >FRIENDS, PLEASE SEND A SOLIDARITY MESSAGE!!!! > >A message received from the Dutch Anti-War Movement in Leiden, and freely >translated by Marya Nyland: > >October 19,01 ATTACKS ON AFGHANISTAN: POLITICIANS IN THE US ARE RECEIVING >DEATH THREATS BECAUSE OF A RESOLUTION AGAINST THE WAR >Members of the City Coucil of Berkeley, California are receiving death >threats, after they passed a resolution earlier this week against the >bombing of Afghanistan.
